A Word Planted with Purpose

Flourish.

Years ago, this word settled quietly into my heart. At the time I didn’t know its significance or why God kept bringing it to mind, but I held onto it. I created a small folder on my computer labeled Flourish and began collecting ideas.  Sometimes they were reflections on faith, notes from conversations with women, and some were just thoughts about what it means to live with peace in a world that rarely feels peaceful. I didn’t realize then that God was planting the earliest seeds of something much bigger. That was the beginning of my journey to Flourish.

A Restlessness I Couldn’t Ignore

For most of my career, I’ve walked alongside women as they navigated financial decisions, life transitions, and the emotional weight that money so often carries. Our conversations were rarely just about dollars and cents. They were about identity, fear, hope, responsibility, and the desire to live a meaningful life. And while I loved the work, I began to notice a quiet restlessness growing inside me — a sense that something in my own life needed to shift. Ultimately, this restlessness led me to pursue how I might truly Flourish in both life and vocation.

As a woman of Christian faith, I’ve often looked at the good things in my life and assumed that “good” automatically meant “God’s best.” But over time, I began to sense that my comfort was becoming its own kind of barrier. I wasn’t running from something bad — I was being invited into something better. God was nudging me toward a deeper alignment between my values, my work, and the way I wanted to show up in the world.

Clarity Through Prayer and Providence

Through prayer, reflection, and a series of providential conversations, I began to see the unique gifts and convictions God had woven into me were not fully expressed in the life I was living. As my family’s needs changed, so did my understanding of what obedience looked like. God wasn’t calling me away from something. He was calling me toward something greater—a way to truly Flourish.

Leaving a stable corporate role was not in my nature. I am loyal, steady, and slow to make big changes. But eventually the fear of change became smaller than the fear of staying the same. I realized that to help women live with clarity and confidence, I needed to model that in my own life. At last, I chose to actively Flourish by living out my calling.

And so, Flourish Financial Life Planning was born — not out of escape, but out of calling.

Flourishing in Real Life, Not Perfect Life

The past few years have taught me that flourishing is not the absence of hardship. Our family has faced loss, illness, and unexpected challenges. Yet in the midst of it, I’ve experienced a deeper kind of peace that comes from living in alignment with the life God designed for me. Flourishing, in the truest sense, means choosing to Flourish regardless of circumstances. It’s a posture. A way of moving through the world with trust, intention, and hope.
